Where is your professional sanctuary?
As I was reading a message sent from the Marty Paslick, CIO, HCA Healthcare, I was struck by his words and knew I wanted to share the idea with the members of PMI Tallahassee. Marty wrote:
“While COVID-19 has led us all to be more reflective and grateful, we still are flooded with stimulus. As an introvert, it can be suffocating. I simply can’t process it all and I feel myself slipping into an overwhelmed state of mind. My creativity and proactive thought processes can easily be snuffed out. I find myself seeking an ability to quiet my mind; to find some sort of sanctuary. I know for many, they find that place in prayer, meditation or some sort of physical exercise.”
As I read this I began to think, where is my sanctuary? Every morning, I read and/or listen to words from those that have already travelled down the path I’m wishing to go. During this time, I let my mind slide into a place that allows my creativity to wander freely. I think back at most of my professional habits and many times they began as a thought during that early morning retreat. So I leave you with this question, where is your professional sanctuary?
